Marilou (Riley) Stilwell, 94, of Evansville passed away at River Pointe Health Campus on February 5, 2025.

Marilou was born on December 17, 1930 in Francisco to the late Bertis and Faye (Aydelotte) Riley.

Marilou married the love of her life Russell Stilwell on June 26, 1948 and spent 55 loving years together before his passing in 2003. Marilou was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Francisco. She was very active in her church and all of their activities. She was also a large part of the Center for Gibson County Seniors.

Marilou is survived by 2 loving children, Susan (Lynn) Polak of Marion, IL and Peggy (Frank) Prewitt of Evansville; a granddaughter, Rachel (Josh) Meredith; 3 great-grandchildren, Hayden, Hudson, and Hannah Meredith; and a brother, Jerry Riley of Francisco.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Russell Stilwell; siblings, Ruth Shelton, Dorothy Thurgood, Vivian Townsend, and Charles "Bud" Riley; and a son-in-law, Dale Hanks.

The family would like to thank all of the care givers at Riverpointe Health Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care of Mom.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Friday, February 14, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. A committal service will follow at Providence Cemetery in Francisco.
