Marjorie Joyce Woods, 91, of Owensville, IN, passed away in Evansville, IN, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late William Francis and Catherine Fern (Young) Wilson on May 7, 1933, in Princeton, IN, but was raised in Owensville.

Marjorie graduated from Owensville High School in 1951 and received her nursing degrees from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Evansville and Garrett Seminary in Evanston, IL. She taught at St. Mary's and Deaconess Schools of Nursing. She was also a United Methodist Pastor and served Faith and Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church in Boonville for 20+ years. She served 8 years on Owensville Town Counsel, was active as a girl scout and cub scout leader, La Leche League Leader, Past President of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Daughter of the Nile, and the National Fellowship of Associate members and local pastors UMC. She had many hobbies and especially enjoyed genealogy and doll making and collecting. Later in life, she took up interest in Jimmy Buffet and was known as a "Parrothead".

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine; a sister, Nancy Braselton; as well as her husband of 52 years, David Keithly Woods in 2007.

Surviving is one son, Daniel (Karen) Woods of Owensville and one daughter, Denise (Greg Gross) Woods of Evansville, IN; two grandchildren, Danelle (Pat) Kissel and Joe Woods; great grandchildren, Jude and Lee Kissel; and a nephew, Harold Beumel of Evansville.

Visitation for Marjorie will be on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Owensville United Methodist Church with services to follow at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Marsha Bishop officiating.  Burial will be at the Owensville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital or Samaritan's Purse.
