Obituary

Mary Ann Naas, 87, of Haubstadt passed away surrounded by her loving family at River Oaks Health Campus on March 25, 2025.

Mary Ann was born on April 5, 1937, to the late Elmer and Marie (Deters) Hass in Evansville.

Mary Ann was a co-owner of Naas and Sons since 1955 where she worked and retired after over 50 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John Women's Auxiliary, and the Daughters of Isabella. She thoroughly enjoyed playing cards, especially clabber, camping, traveling, and swimming. She absolutely loved horses and in her younger years she enjoyed riding them.

Besides her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Naas; 2 sons, James Frank Naas and Mark Allen Naas; a brother, Leonard Hass; and a sister-in-law, Joan Hass.

Mary Ann is survived by 4 children, Keith (Kathy) Naas of Haubstadt, Jo Ann (Mike) Meth of Evansville, Larry Naas of Haubstadt, and Thomas (Misty) Naas of Haubstadt; 2 daughter-in-laws, Lisa Naas and Debbie Naas; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 6 great-great grandchildren; and her 2 dogs, BoBo and Charlie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt at 11:00 a.m. with Father Gary Kaiser as celebrant and Father Andrew Thomas as co-celebrant. A rosary service will be Sunday, March 30, 2025, starting at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a procession from the funeral home to the church. A committal service will follow mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to a special friend Rhonda Dunning as well at River Oaks and Ascera Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Little Sisters of the Poor, or the Sisters of St. Benedict. Expressions of sympathy can be made at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
