Matthew Scott Sheridan, 59, of Owensville, IN, passed away at home on April 2, 2026. Born in Evansville, IN on March 9, 1967, to Don and Carol (Thacker) Sheridan, Matt spent his childhood in Haubstadt, IN as a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He graduated from Gibson Southern High School in 1985.

While raising his children, Matt worked as a janitor at Owensville Community School and served part-time as deputy marshall in Owensville. Later, he joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, retiring in 2024 after 25 years in facilities maintenance. His community involvement included membership in the National Rifle Association and service as a councilman for the Owensville Town Board.

Matt was passionate about sprint cars, go-kart racing, Harley motorcycles, and basketball. Fridays were often spent at the go-cart track with his kids, enjoying races, music, and fun. He cherished time with his grandchildren and was known for his hard work, outgoing nature, love of laughter, and enjoyment of life—traits that made him well loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Carol Sheridan; brother, Steve Sheridan; and grandson, Isaiah Robinson.

Surviving family includes his children, Kimberlie (Justin) Robinson of Oakland City, IN, Clayton Sheridan and Coleman Sheridan, both of Elberfeld, IN; stepchildren, Christopher Yarber of Bridgeport, IL, and Curstain (Taylor) Yarber of Evansville, IN; siblings Susan Sheridan of Noblesville, IN, Terri (Dave) Kiesel, Katie (Phil) Wilzbacher, Lauri (Steve) Schmitt, and Franci (Daryl) Elpers—each of Haubstadt, IN—along with Vicki (Stu) Nathan of Fort Branch, IN, and Angie (Dave) Hunsucker of Franklin, IN; grandchildren Jaylen, Payton, Aubrey, Isaac, Ellie Mae, and Carter; special friend Tiffani Perrin of Bridgeport, IL; Lori (Darren) McClellan, mother of his children, of Owensville, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
