Obituary

Melanie (Clutter) Dougan, 47, of Elberfeld, IN. passed away at her residence on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009. She was born on Jan. 17, 1962 in Evansville, IN. to the late Milton Clutter and Pat (Slade) Shelton of Haubstadt, IN.. Melanie was a member of the St. Stephens U.C.C. in Warrenton, IN. She attended Gibson Southern High School and graduated from North High School in 1980. Melanie was a 10 year Air Force veteran, and was stationed in Italy, and California. She was a member of the Elberfeld American Legion Post # 351. She was working at Rexam when she became ill and had formally worked at Integrated Systems, Wabash Plastics, and Toyota. She enjoyed her family, piecing quilts, crafts, and counted cross stitch. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother Milton and Dorothy Clutter and her Stepfather Bill Shelton. Melanie is survived by her husband, of 7 years, Jim Dougan; Daughter Jamie (Stephen) Foster and Briana Spradley of Evansville, IN.; Stepson Luke Dougan of Elberfeld; mother Pat Shelton of Haubstadt, IN.; brothers Mike (Janet) Clutter of Oakland City, IN., Jerry Clutter of Evansville, IN.; grandchildren Jordan and Jayla Foster; Father and mother In-law, James and Rita Dougan; of Princeton, IN.,Brother In-law Steve Dougan, Larry Tice and sister in-law Jesi Tice, and nieces and nephews. Services for Melanie will be on Wednesday, Aug. 26th, 2009 at 10:30 P.M. at the St. Stephens United Church of Christ in Warrenton, IN, Rev. Steve Oeth will officiate, burial will be in the church cemetery, where a military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Post #351. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN., and again from 9:30 A.M. until service time at the church on Wednesday. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Vista Care Hospice or o the St. Stephens U.C.C...
