Michael L
Rexing
December 18, 1958 – May 14, 2024
Michael L. Rexing, 65, peacefully passed away on May 14th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 18th, 1958, to the late Earl and Carolyn Rexing. Mike graduated from Gibson Southern High School in 1977.
Throughout his life, Mike, affectionately known as Augie, found joy in his 44-year career in the construction industry, retiring in 2022 as General Superintendent from W.B. Koester Construction. He was a member of the Knights of St. John and Knights of Columbus of Haubstadt. He also took pride in his gardening skills, meticulous yard maintenance, and passion for cooking for friends and family. On the weekends, he cherished his time attending his grandchildren's sporting events and taking rides with them in his Polaris Ranger.
Mike was a devoted father and grandfather and is survived by his children: Eric (Clara) Rexing, Jenna (Eric) Dembek, six grandchildren: Riley, Brooklynn, Kennedy, Nora, Aiden, and Avery, lifelong friend: Tammy Rexing, two brothers: Randy (Leslie) Rexing, Dave (Elaine) Rexing, and two sisters: Julie Rexing and Kim (Stan) Ziliak.
A special thank you to Dr. Michael Titzer and staff at St. Vincent Ascension Oncology Group of Evansville, Dr. David Spigel and staff at Sarah Cannon Research Center of Nashville, and Heart to Heart Hospice of Evansville.
