Mildred M. Michel 87, of Fort Branch, IN passed away on Thursday December 18, 2003 at the Owensville Manor in Owensville, IN. She was born on November 18, 1916 in Haubstadt, IN to the late Carl and Hulda (Klusmeier) Stunkel. Mildred is a member of the Fort Branch Presbyterian Church and the Fort Branch Order of Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Henry Michel, who passed away in November of this year. Surviving are 3 children and their spouses, Henrietta and Bill Stone of Princeton, IN, Donna and Randy Atkinson of Allendale, IL, and Robert and Mical Michel of Chatum, IL She also has a brother Elmer Stunkel of Haubstadt, In. She has 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Lynette Stone, Brian and Karen Stone, Kent Stone, Mark Estes, Jill and Brian Smith, Tom Atkinson, Sarah and Michel Crecelius, and Ann and Bill Meyers. She also has 9 great grandchildren Megan and Abby Stone, Lyndsay, Ryan, and Sean Stone, Katie, Nate, and Andrew Meyers, and Grace Crecelius. Services for Mildred will be conducted on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at The Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 west in Fort Branch, IN, Reverend Sam Sterrett will officiate, burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN. Friends may call for visitation on Saturday, December 20, 2003 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family request any donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Fort Branch Presbyterian Church.
