M. Wayne Gibson, 86, of Owensville, IN, passed away at Transcendent Healthcare in Owensville on November 25, 2021. He was born to the late Henry and Alberta (Sanders) Gibson on October 8, 1935, in Hazleton, IN.

Wayne was a graduate of Fort Branch High School. He served in the U.S. Army after the Korean War. He retired from Whirlpool after many years of service as a union steward and assembly line operator. He was a member of the Lion's Club in Owensville and a former volunteer firefighter for the town of Owensville.

Besides his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Campbell) Gibson; daughter, Debra Gibson; and siblings, Tom Gibson, Bob Gibson, Edna Lewis, Martha Robb, and Mandy Gibson.

Wayne is survived by his children, Thomas Gibson of Indianapolis, IN, Tim Gibson of Dunnellon, Fl, and Donna (Tom) Dunlap of Haubstadt, IN; grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Monroe of Haubstadt, IN, Katie Monroe of Fort Branch, IN, and Brandon (Tina) Long of Haubstadt, IN; step grandchildren, Morgan (Caleb) Jewell of Houston, TX and Tyler Dunlap of Austin, TX; and 8 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Maumee Cemetery in Johnson, IN with Pastor Bart Wagner officiating. Stodghill Funeral Home is honored to take care of Wayne and his family in this time of need.
