Nettie L. Sokeland, 94, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born to the late Joseph and Dora (Morgan) Weber on Sept. 21, 1915 in Gibson Co. Nettie was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch and recently at St. Joseph Church in Princeton, IN. She was a foster Parent for Catholic Charities until 1974. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her Husband, Golla Sokeland in 1984, 2 brothers, Johnny and Louis Weber, 3 sisters Marie Dewig, Helen Hoefling, and Francis Weber. Nettie is survived by 3 children, Vic and Frank Sokeland of Fort Branch, IN, and Mary Glavich of Princeton, IN, a sister and brother, Leona Harmon of Fort Branch, IN, and Clarence Weber of Princeton, IN. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at 11:00 A,M, at Holy Cross Church in Fort Branch, with Father Tony Ernst the celebrant, burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 from 4PM until 8PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN,and again at the church,from 9AM until service time at the church on Monday. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. The family request that in lieu of flowers the donations be made Catholic Charties.
