Patrick J. Bender, 49, of Owensville, IN, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 25th, 2007 . He was born on January 15, 1958 in Evansville, IN to James R. and Rosalind (Beuligmann) Bender. Pat was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, and was a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Shawn (Springer) Bender, his parents, James and Rosalind Bender of Cynthiana, IN, 6 children, Grace Elizabeth, Cecelia Rose, Clare Marie, Gabriel James, Mary Catherine, and Jude Patrick Bender all at home. Also surviving are 2 brothers and 5 sisters and their spouses, Mark (Jennifer) Bender of Cynthiana, IN, Nicholas (Laura) Bender of Cynthiana, IN., Diana (Rodney) Shepherd of Atlanta, GA., Donna (Ken) Rumps of Atlanta, GA., Paula (Terry) Schaefer of Indianapolis, IN., Cynthia Bender and Mike Fritz of Madison Wisconsin, and Elise (Matt) Sepic of St. Louis, MO., also several Nieces and Nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 28th, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with burial in the church cemetery. Fathers Tony Ernst and Gary Kaiser will be the celebrants. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27th, 2007 at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. A Rosary will be conducted by the church parish at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home and another Rosary recited at 9:45 A.M. at the church prior to the service. The family request that any donations be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Outreach Committee or to the Little Sisters of the Poor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
