Paul F. Schaefer, 87, of Fort Branch, IN. passed away on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born on July 17, 1921 in Fort Branch, to the late Joseph and Anna (Kiesel) Schaefer. Paul was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch and the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Doris June (Kuester) Schaefer, who passed away on Oct. 24, 2007, and 5 brothers and sisters, Mildred Sensmeier, Cecelia Baehl, Marie Goedde, Edwin Schaefer, and Francis Seib. Paul is survived by his son and his wife, David (Debbie) Schaefer of Fort Branch, IN., and 2 grandchildren, Stephanie Coy, and Christopher Schaefer, 3 Great Grandchildren, Shelby Schaefer, Alexis Coy, and Ava Coy. He is also survived by 1 sister Vernita kuester of Fort Branch, IN.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Church with burial in the church cemetery. Fathers Tony Ernst and Gary Kaiser will be the celebrants. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN., where a rosary will be recited by the church parish at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
