Peggy A. Bruce, 81, of Oakland City, IN, passed away at Deaconess Heart Hospital in Newburgh, IN on January 20, 2020. She was born to the late Clifford and Nina (White) Blackard on August 20, 1938 in Fort Branch, IN.

She was a member of the Eastern Star of Oakland City and of the Presbyterian faith. She graduated from Deaconess Nurses Training Program in 1959 and retired from Wirth Hospital in 2000 as a Registered Nurse.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by 1 brother, Larry Blackard.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Morris Bruce and 2 brothers, Mick (Nancy) Blackard of Haubstadt, IN and William (Joanie) Blackard of Evansville, IN.

Services will be on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch and will be officiated by Reverend Corey Atkins with burial to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.
