John Richard "Dick" Lintz, 85, of Newburgh, IN. formally of Fort Branch, IN. passed away on Monday, March 1st, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born to the late Oscar and Elizabeth (Durham) Lintz on Aug. 22nd 1924 in Fort Branch. Dick was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Greenville, TX. He was a WW II Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine service. He was a lifetime member of the Fort Branch VFW Post #2714, and the Newburgh American Legion Post #44, he also belonged to the Fort Branch Masonic Lodge #696, The Evansvile Scottish Rite, and was a former member of the Hadi Shrine. Besides his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his 1st wife of 55 years, Mayella (Sides) Lintz in Nov. 2001. He is survived by his 2nd wife of 7 years, Billie (Merritt) Lintz, 2 children, LaRaye (Dennis) Higgs of Newburgh, IN., Roger Lintz of Austin, TX., 2 step-sons Curtis (JIll) Barnes of Newburgh, IN., and Donald (Barbara) Barnes also of Newburgh, IN. 3 grandchildren, Wade (Julie) Lintz, Molly Lintz of Austin, TX., and Darren (Sara) Higgs of Evansville, IN., 6 Step-grandchildren, and 5 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Irma DeBeck of Sarasota, FL. Services for Dick will be on Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN. Dr. James Cramer will officiate, with burial in Walnut Hill. Vistation will be on Friday, March 5th, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, where a masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. by the Fort Branch lodge #696. Military services will be conducted at the graveside by the Newburgh Post #44 on Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
