Roger Allen Spindler, 74, of Haubstadt passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 21, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
Roger was born to the late George and Dorothy (Memmer) Spindler on October 30, 1951, in Evansville.
Above all, Roger was devoted to his family. He found great joy in seeing his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren carry on his legacy. A lifelong farmer, he enjoyed raising crops, cattle, and sheep. He was especially proud of his grandchildren for showing livestock in 4-H and always loved hearing the laughter of children. Roger was also a member of the Knights of St. John.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon (Dewig) Spindler; 5 beautiful children, Michelle (David) Lynch of St. Croix, IN, Kevin (Jennifer) Spindler of Haubstadt, John (Sarah) Spindler of Haubstadt, Karen (Phillip) Doerner of Evansville, and Lisa (Caleb) Wilson of Elberfeld; 20 grandchildren, Mallory, Dylan, Shayne, Lily, and Rilynn Lynch, Elizabeth (Grant) Holzmeyer, Emily, Eva, Elliott, Allison, Maci, and Bailey Spindler, Noah, Hannah, Isaiah, Leah, and Joy Doerner, and Annabelle, Andrew, and Abigail Wilson; great grandchild, Margaret Holzmeyer and one on the way; siblings, Deby Klimaszewski, Keith (Cheryl) Spindler, Alicia Kay (William) Brandle, and Dale (Linda) Spindler; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Bradley and Glenn Spindler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt with Father Phillip Rogier and Father Tony Ernst as co-celebrants. Visitation will take place Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch. Additional visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until mass time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School. Expressions of sympathy may be made at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
