Ruth McClellan, 102, of Owensville, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 14, 2024. Born to Herbert and Elsie (Goodson) Racine on January 16th, 1922.

During WWII, Ruth, alongside several other young women, took up welding at the shipyard in Evansville, IN, while our brave young men and boys were fighting on distant shores. She also worked at Emge Meat Packing in Fort Branch, IN for 33 years.

Ruth was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Owensville where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She found joy in reading her Bible, knitting, gardening, quilting, and solving crossword puzzles.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd McClellan; her parents; her infant son, Benny Ray; her brothers William, Elvis, Roy Herbert, Ernest, and Donnie; her sisters, Thelma, Darlene, and Barbara. .

She leaves behind her daughters, Betty Dyke and Wanda Smith; her sister, Linda deVischEybergen; her grandchildren, Glen (Rosa) Dyke, Steven Dyke, Andrea (Mark) Fetcher, and Whitney (Steven) Markle. And her great-grandchildren, Michalia, Kalab, Cooper, and Coby.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate Heart to Heart staff who provided comfort and blessings during Ruth's final months, and Dr. Chester Burkett, who cared for her with great dedication over many years.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 18, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with Pastor Bob Douglas officiation. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18,2024, from 10:00 a.m. until service time. A committal service will be at Maumee Cemetery in Owensville, IN, prior to burial. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's honor can be made to the First General Baptist Church.
