Ruth Wagoner

Ruth Snyder-Wagoner, 97, died on October 18, 2026, at Envive Healthcare of Evansville.

Born on December 6, 1928, near Rockport in Spencer County, Ruth was the daughter of the late Walter and Gracie (Hart) Snyder.

She graduated from Rockport High School and later attended Lockyear’s Business College in Evansville.

Ruth worked as an executive secretary at Whirlpool for 24 years before retiring in 1994.

In retirement, she volunteered with the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Vincent’s Pet Therapy. For 10 years, she enjoyed visiting patients in the Rehab Center with Kelly Healy and Kelly’s dog, Gracie.

Ruth was a charter member of Church of the Cross General Baptist, where she served as secretary beginning in 1994 and as treasurer for 14 years.

She loved God’s creation, especially flowers, trees, and animals.

Ruth is survived by her nephews, Mike Snyder, Greg Richard, Kris Snyder, Brent Richard, Adam Snyder, Luke Snyder, and Mike Snyder Jr.; and her nieces, Debra Snyder-Hayse, Jane Snyder-Bunner, Sandra Snyder, Taylor Smith, Khloe Snyder, and Ella Kate Snyder.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her aunt, Bess Lusk, who became her mother after the death of Ruth’s biological mother; her brothers, Theodore “Ted” Snyder and Larry H. Snyder; and her nephews, Denny Snyder and Clayton Bunner.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Church of the Cross in Evansville, Indiana, with Pastor Jack Eberhardt officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the service. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Cross, 7525 N.
