Ruth Hacker, aged 101, of Fort Branch, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at North River Health Campus, surrounded by her family. Born on January 27, 1925, in Decker, Indiana, she was the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle (Murry) Dixon.
On April 15, 1950, Ruth married Harlen Hacker, with whom she shared sixty years of devoted partnership. She was a dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was known for her kindness and simplicity. In her earlier years, Ruth had interests including yodeling, organ playing, and solving crossword puzzles.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Harlen Hacker; two sons, Roger Hacker and Dennis Harvey; her parents; and three siblings: Hester McCallister, Geneva Macagnone, and Andrew Dixon.
She is survived by her children: Brenda (George) Ankenbrand of Fort Branch, David (Elsie) Hacker of Evansville, and Ronald (Anna) Harvey of Evansville; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Kirk Horstmeyer. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
