Shirley M. Wittenberg, 77, of Fort Branch, IN passed away at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN on Wed. Apr. 3, 2013.  She was born on Apr. 14, 1935 in Evansville, IN to the late Edward and Lillian (Walters) Conder.

She was a member of Fort Branch General Baptist Church.  Shirley spent a lot of time with her church family and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Besides her parents, Shirley is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wittenberg, who passed away on Dec. 28, 2005.

She is survived by 4 children, Sharon Ann (Dennis) Engelhardt of Elberfeld, IN, Terry Sue (Tony) Brackett of Fort Branch, IN, Vickie Lee (Orville) Merkel of Lynnville, IN, and Marilou (Chris) Corn of Evansville, IN, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Service for Shirley will be on Friday, Apr. 5, 2013 at the Fort Branch General Baptist Church at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Steve Akins Officiating, burial will be in Northview Cemetery in Elberfeld, IN.  Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church on Friday.  The family request that any donations be made to the VNA Charlier Hospice Center or the Fort Branch General Baptist Church.  Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch is in charge of arrangements.
