Steve Abney, 62, of Fort Branch, IN. passed away on Thursday, Nov.11, 2009 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN. He was born on June 13, 1947, in Clark County, KY. to Clayton and Ethel (Walters) Abney. Steve worked as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army. Steve is survived by a son Steven Abney Jr. of Metropolis, IL, a Brother, Larry Abney, of Greenwood, IN., and a sister Delores Tapp of Winchester, KY. he is also survived by his former wife and friend, Patricia Lynch of Fort Branch, IN. Services for Steve will be on Wednesday, Nov. 18th, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 18th, 2009, from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. The VFW Post 2714 and American Legion Post 194 will conducte military services at the graveside on Wednesday.
