Susan "Susie" Jane Petitjean, age 82, of Evansville, IN, passed away on June 14, 2025, at River Pointe Health Campus in Evansville. Born to James and Mary "Ruth" (Brandle) Moore on September 4, 1942, in Evansville, she was known as Susie throughout her life.
A graduate of Reitz High School in 1961, she married Eugene Leo Petitjean on August 19, 1967. She took great pleasure in gardening and maintained a large vegetable garden alongside her husband. Preceding her in death were her parents, her beloved husband of 55 years, Eugene Petitjean, sisters Betty and Virginia "Carol", brothers-in-law Clarence Petitjean and Bob Seibert, and sisters-in-law Carolyn Putnam and Star Petitjean.
She is survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Betsy Petitjean of Haubstadt, Mary and Dave Adams of Fort Branch, Eileen Seibert of Haubstadt, Tom Putnam of Evansville, and several nieces and nephews. The family extends their gratitude to River Pointe Health Campus and Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and compassion towards Susie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, officiated by Father Phillip Rogier. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at the church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Evansville, IN. Donations in her honor may be made to St. James Catholic Church.
