Sylvia Marie Fischer, 17 , of Owensville, IN passed away on Dec. 16, 2011 in Evansville, IN, as a result of an automobile accident. She was born to Bridget (Sensmeier) Garrett and Billy Jo Fischer on Dec. 27, 1993 in Evansville, IN Sylvia was a senior at Gibson Southern High School in Fort Branch, IN where she participated in the High School Marching Band, the Sunshine Society, and the Thesbian Club. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Bridgett and Gregory Lee Garrett of Owensville, IN, her father Billy Jo Fischer of Caster La, a sister, Scarlett Lee Fischer of Owensville, 2 Step sisters, Brianna Marie Garrett of Owensville, IN, and Ambria Dawn Garrett of Princeton, IN, her grand parents, Bob and Sylvia Sensmeier of Fort Branch, IN, Michael and Sinda Fischer of AZ, and Mary Field of Princeton, IN. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Wed. Dec. 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, Father Tony Ernst will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tues. Dec. 20, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Holy Cross Church and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Wed. at the Church. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. on Tues evening at the church. Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN is in charge of arrangements. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gibson Southern Marching Band.
