Thomas Lee Heichelbech, age 73, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at his residence on June 26, 2025. He was born to Kenneth and Anna (Schneider) Heichelbech in Huntingburg, IN, on December 23, 1951.
Tom graduated from Huntingburg High School and was a dedicated member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt. He served as a maintenance supervisor for Norfolk Southern for 41 years before retiring in 2011. His interests included fishing, camping, outdoor activities, and watching sports. He cherished moments spent with his grandchildren, particularly attending their sporting events.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Lee Ray Heichelbech.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Patty (Kippenbrock) Heichelbech of Haubstadt; his four children, Jared Heichelbech of Crestview, FL, Jessica (Ryan) Weber of Haubstadt, Rachel Heichelbech of Haubstadt, and Matthew (Ashleigh) Heichelbech of Great Falls, Montana; siblings, Sharon (Dennis) Broker of Huntingburg and David Heichelbech of Kansas City, Kansas; sister-in-law, Geralyn Heichelbech of Huntingburg; grandchildren, Alexis Heichelbech, Kaitlin Weber, Sydney Weber, Rylan Weber, Gibson Heichelbech, and Holter Heichelbech; and a great-grandson, Arthur Carpenter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, with Father Phillip Rogier officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch and again on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. preceding the visitation on Wednesday at the funeral home. The committal service will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery prior to burial.
