Vera L. Henderson

Vera I. Henderson, 88, of Owensville. IN, passed away at Transcendant Health Care of Owensville on Monday, July 1, 2013.  She was born to the late Everett and   Lola (Tyer) Griggs on June 3, 1925 in Lawrenceville, IL.

She was a member of the Apostolic Bible Church in Stewartsville, IN. Besides her parents,  Vera was a retired maintainance supervisor at Parkview Nursing Home in Evansville, IN after 20 years of service.

Besides  her parents, Vera was also preceded in death by her husband Lee in 1993, and a daughter, Christina Henderson in 2011.

She is survived by 2 children, Melissa Dike, and a son David Henderson, Both of Owensville, IN, Sisters Marlene Berry of Olney, IL, Vada Doty of Kankakee, IL, Valetta Ludtring of Denver, CO, Brothers Sam Griggs of Sumner, IL, John Griggs of Branson, MO, Jay Griggs of Sumner, IN, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She loved her garden, animals, and cooking for her family.

Services for Vera will be on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, with burial in Owensville Cemetery in Owensville, IN.  Reverend Scott Burr will be officiating.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
