Wanda L. Southwood, 87, of Portland, TN, formally of Fort Branch, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012. She was born to the late Earl and Clyda (Camden) Schurhardt on Dec. 14, 1924, in Glendale, IL She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church in Somerville, IN. Besides her parents, Wanda is also preceded in death by her husband, George J. Southwood, on Jan. 2, 1972. She is also preceded in death by her sister, DeLilah Ashby. Surviving Wanda are 4 children, Joy L. Crockett of Russell Springs, KY, Gay L. Frederick of Portland, TN, M. Lee Barnes of Indianapolis, IN, and James E. Southwood of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Services for Wanda will be on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 west in Fort Branch, IN, Pastor Joe Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan. 15 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Monday.
