William E. Delong, 86, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 12, 2014.  He was born to the late James Garfield and Martha Alice (Alcorn) Delong on Aug. 21, 1927 in Fort Branch, IN, He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Mae (Clifton) DeLong.

Bill was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a life member of the Fort Branch VFW Post # 2714.  He was retired from Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville, IN after 40 years of service.

He is survived by 1 son Raymond Delong of Fort Branch, IN, 1 grandson, Scotty Delong of Fort Branch, IN, 4 great grandchildren, Samuel, Seth, Sean, and Shaylie Delong of Fort Branch, IN.  he is also survived by 1 sister Faye Evelyn Rogers of Fort Branch, IN, and a special friend Phyllis Gray of Princeton, IN.

Services for Bill will be on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home located in Fort Branch, IN, Pastor Steve Atkins will officiate.  Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN, where graveside military services will be conducted by the Fort Branch VFW Post # 2714, and the Haubstadt American Legion Post # 194.  Visitation will be on Monday June 16, 2014 from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
