William R. Newman, 79, of Haubstadt, IN passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the Gibson General Skilled Nursing in Princeton, IN. He was born to the late William Henry and Ita (Minton) Newman on March 1, 1925 in Posey Co., IN. Bill was retired from the Western Southern Life Insurance Co., where he worked as an agent for 25 years. He, along with his 3 brothers served in the military during WW II. Bill, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Cynthiana United Methodist Church, the Fort Branch VFW Post 2714, the Fort Branch Masonic Lodge #696. Besides his parents, Bill is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters, Rex, George, and Porter Newman, Fern McNatton, Louella Newmam, Eva Gatewood, and Helen Schultheis. He is survived by his wife, Maxine (Bush) Newman. 3 children Leisa Bosecker of Mt. Carmel, IL, Jane Ann Mowery of Evansville, William Jon Newman of Owensville, IN. He also has 5 Grandchildren, Kevin Mowery, Janna Grimm, Heather Wolfe, Brittany Bosecker, and Colton Bosecker, also 7 Great Grandchildren, Jordon Willis, Dylen Wolfe, Kyla Wolfe, Justin Grimm, Peyton Grimm, Conner Mowery, and Chloe Mowery. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews. Services for Bill will be conducted at the Stodghill Funeral Home Located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2004, Reverend William Ping will officiate, burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery in Cynthiana, IN, Where the Fort Branch, VFW Post 2714 will conduct Military services. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Fort Branch Masonic Lodge # 696 will conduct Masonic service on Monday Night at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. The family request that any donations be made to the American Lung Association, Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
