Bernard W. Elpers, 79, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at Transcendent Health Care in Owensville, IN on Monday, April 4, 2022. He was born to the late Joseph and Marianna (Martin) Elpers on January 23, 1943, in Evansville, IN.
Bernie was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt. He graduated from Mater Dei High School. He served in the National Guard for 6 years and worked as a cable repairman for AT&T. He enjoyed drag racing, working on race cars, and watching his grandchildren in their various sports and activities. He was a member of the OBC Boat Club and Rock Steady Boxing.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Brian and Lisa Elpers; brothers, Joey, Ronnie, and Jerome Elpers; and grandchild, Zachary Bailey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Aline (Kiesel) Elpers; children, Pam (Greg) Fox and Jason (Stacy) Elpers both of Fort Branch, IN; siblings, Kathleen (Donnie) Will, Eileen (Jack) Rausch, Teresa (Chuck) Roberts, Carol (Wesley) Ham, Rick (Pauline) Elpers, Eugene (Carol) Elpers, and John (Lori) Elpers all of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Kyleigh (Chris) Bradshaw, Kyndall Fox, Kendra Elpers, and Devyn (Krimson) Bailey; and 6 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Betz as celebrant. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
