Dana Jo (Georges) Cummins, age 61, of Fort Branch, Indiana, passed away at home on September 2, 2022. She was the wife of David Cummins for 43 years. Dana was born May 11, 1961, a daughter of the late Larry Gene and Beverley D. Georges. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Justin Cummins, and her brother, Wesley Georges.
For several years Dana enjoyed playing piano at church and you would often hear her lovely piano music coming from her home. Dana loved music and instilled that love in her grandchildren. Besides piano, Dana played the flute and shared that love with her granddaughter, Hailey. Dana was a great cook and her most requested item for a family get-together was her grandma’s chocolate cake. Throughout her younger years, she was an excellent baton twirler. Dana twirled for the Gibson Southern High School marching band and gave lessons to other young girls that wished to twirl. Dana loved to read and her favorite book to read was the Bible. She often had her Bible with her when she visited at the hospital and would read aloud to bring strength and comfort.
Dana is survived by her husband, David Cummins; son Caleb Cummins and his wife, Carol Cummins of Modoc, Indiana; grandchildren Hailey (Blaine) Collins, Dalton and Peyton Cummins of Modoc, Indiana; sisters Kimberly (Roger) Elpers of Haubstadt, Jan Wilzbacher of Fort Branch, and Brooke Adcock of Indianapolis; her friend and aunt, Patricia Rodgers of Evansville, Indiana whom she spoke to daily. She was aunt to several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
All of these she loved and touched deeply.
