Darwin Lee Graper

Darwin Lee Graper, 84, formerly of Haubstadt, IN, passed away on April 5, 2022, at The Addison in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. He was born to the late Darwin W. and Avalon (Reynolds) Graper on February 4, 1938, in Evansville, IN.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN. He graduated from Cynthiana High School in 1956 and married the love of his life, MaryAnn Hoefling on October 18, 1958. He retired from Emge Meat Packing in Fort Branch where he worked as a foreman. Darwin was a lifelong golfer, loved line-dancing, and card playing. He liked to play Clabber with friends and family and had no problem winning all his friend’s money in Poker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Darwin W. and Avalon (Reynolds) Graper and his wife, MaryAnn (Hoefling) Graper.

He is survived by his children, Tim Graper of Garner, NC; Mike Graper and wife, Alma of Fort Branch, IN; Greg Graper and wife, Sandy of Simi Valley, CA; Jeff Graper and wife, Mindy of Evansville, IN; siblings, Sandra Staley of Evansville, IN; Dixie Akers of Wadesville, IN; Robert Reynolds Jr. of Cynthiana, IN; Karen Burns of Cynthiana, IN; Phyllis Jean Hannah of Evansville, IN; Rita Stock of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Graper) Nance, Jeff Graper and wife, Megan; Ben Smith and wife, Ashley; Melissa (Graper) Shanks and husband, Cory; Zach Graper; Tyler Graper; Hailey Wolfe; Kole Graper; Elise Graper and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 10:00 am. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with Father Christopher Droste. Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Haubstadt, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 4:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. at Stodghill Funeral Home.
