David Clark Purcell

David Clark Purcell, 54, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN, on June 22, 2023. He was born to the late Robert and Darlene (Hickrod) Purcell on September 13, 1968, in Evansville, IN.

David was a Baptist in faith, and a gentle, kind, funny, and generous man by nature. Even throughout a long, debilitating illness, he always put the needs of others first. At times he was introverted, but once he became a part of your life, he was in your heart forever. He had a way of making life better just by being there. He is loved dearly, and friends and family members will miss him so much.

David possessed a great appreciation for education, attaining multiple academic degrees. He worked and taught in both the Political Science and Print Media fields amongst various positions throughout his life. He also held a tremendous, lifelong passion for music, songwriting, and guitar. He enjoyed history, politics, nature, sports, and fitness walking as well.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Bob and Darlene (Hickrod) Purcell.

He is survived by his loving, committed partner of many years, Jessica Sisk of Haubstadt, IN, and her daughter, Hallee Miles; two sisters, Jackie Burner and Lisa Bailey; an aunt, Connie (Mike) Reed of Fort Branch, IN; three uncles, Jim Purcell, Jr. of Foley, AL, Tim Hickrod of Fort Branch, IN, Tracy Beard of Evansville, IN; and a nephew and two nieces.

Graveside services will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating.
