Elizabeth Alice (Ferry) Rostron

Elizabeth Alice (Ferry) Rostron, 84, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital on November 24, 2021. She was born to the late Francis and Dorothy (Deal) Ferry on July 18, 1937, in Owensville, IN.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Branch, IN. She graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1955 and married her other half, Alva J. Rostron, on July 23, 1955. She attended Vincennes University and studied psychology. She retired from the South Gibson School Corporation after 30 years of being a teacher’s aide. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for everyone in her family and those in need. She also enjoyed most any book that was handed to her. Her dogs, Oscar and Toby, would usually be found lying in her lap while she was crocheting or reading.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Francis Ferry, Jr., David Ferry, and Carolyn Wright; brothers-in-law, John Green, Harold Lloyd, and James Boyer; sister-in-law, Florence Ferry; and son-in-law, Buford Haworth.

Elizabeth was survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Alva J. Rostron of Haubstadt, IN, 7 children, Juanita Haworth of Owensville, IN, Bruce (Marilee) Rostron of Haubstadt, IN, Elizabeth (John) Montgomery of Spurgeon, IN, Robert (Lisa) Rostron of Spurgeon, IN, Peggy (Michael) Dougan of Princeton, IN, Reba (Randy) Richardson of Owensville, IN, and Janet (Kenneth) Buehner of Fort Branch, IN; siblings, Cyetta Green, Naomi Lloyd, Margaret Boyer, John and Vada Ferry, Lavada and Gary Menke; brother-in-law, Davey Wright; 18 grandchildren, Bryan and Michael Haworth, Lynn Beckett and Andrew Rostron, John Montgomery, Jr. and Rebecca Cannon, Keena Martin and Sharon Myers, Shelby Sparacino, Rachel Slunder, Stephanie Hogan and Ally Keehn, Chris and Tom Richardson, Sarah Powell, Laura Gordon, LoVeta Stuckey and Robert Stuckey; 34 great grandchildren, and 21 step great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home with Kristi Pflug officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN. Burial will be at Barnett Chapel Cemetery. Donations in her honor can be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Fort Branch, IN.
