Eugene A. Neufelder, 88, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN, on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was born to the late Lawrence and Pauline (Hisker) Neufelder on May 22, 1934, in Haubstadt, IN.
Eugene was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Army and served for 2 years. He worked in the office at Emge Meat Packing in Fort Branch for 30 years.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Edward Neufelder, Harold (Betty Ann) Neufelder, Fr. Jerome Neufelder, Gerald (Sharon) Neufelder, and Dorothy (William) Youngson; sister-in-law, Marie Neufelder; and brothers-in-law, Sam Wild, Gary Wade, and Robert Elpers.
He is survived by his siblings, Larry Neufelder of Evansville, IN, Mary Martha (Cruz) Salas of Globe, AR, Norma Wild of Vincennes, IN, Betty Lou Wade of Evansville, IN, Ann (Chad) Williams of Cynthiana, IN, and Barbara Elpers of Evansville, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch with Father Gary Kaiser as celebrant. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with a rosary service at 5:00 p.m. Military Honors will be performed by the Veterans of Gibson County prior to burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in his honor can be made to the Salvation Army or to St. Meinrad Archabbey. Expressions of sympathy can be made at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
