Frank Edward Sokeland, 72, of Fort Branch, Indiana, passed away on June 2, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was raised by the late Golla and Nettie (Weber) Sokeland and born on February 16, 1949, in Evansville, Indiana.
Frank was baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch. He was a member of the Missouri Conservation Club and loved fishing. He loved being with his family and friends and helping others, and he will be deeply missed.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Brosmer.
Frank is survived by his nieces, Jody Wilson of Fort Branch, Misty (Joe) Kemper of St. Louis, Mo, and Sarah Sokeland of St. Louis, Mo; great nephews, Jordan Wilson, Kaleb Kemper, Brody Kemper, and Victor Kemper; great nieces, Jessica Hart, Karlie Kemper, Faye Kemper, Katelynn Sokeland and Ari Sokeland; brothers, Vic Sokeland of Fort Branch, Tommy Clem of Darmstadt, and Donnie Brosmer of Ireland; and sisters, Mary Glavich of Princeton, IN, Mary Jane Wargel of Evansville, Rita Rodgers of Providence, Ky, Anna Tombaugh of Ireland, Marie (Kenny) Wathen of Jasper, and Linda Groves of Providence, Ky.
A Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Akins officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Stodghill Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Branch.
