Jared Dean Huey, 48, of Owensville, IN, passed away at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis on October 23, 2023. He was born to Joe and Bonna (Partenheimer) Huey on November 9, 1974, in Princeton, IN.
Jared was fun-loving, romantic, kind-hearted, strong, resilient, and full of life. He was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church in Princeton, IN. Jared and his loving wife of 22 years, Anna, own Huey’z Handcrafted in Owensville,IN. He graduated from Princeton Community High School in 1993, attended the University of Southern Indiana to obtain his bachelor’s degree, and attended Oakland City University to obtain his master’s degree in teaching. In his 25 years of teaching, he taught at Princeton Community Middle School and North Posey High School. He also coached volleyball for Owensville Middle School, Princeton Middle School, and Gibson Southern High School. Despite being the recipient of two kidney transplants, he still enjoyed life to the fullest by riding motorcycles and dirt-bikes. His infectious smile and laughter will be truly missed.
Jared is preceded in death by his mother, Bonna Huey and his father-in-law, Bruce McClellan.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Anna (McClellan) Huey of Owensville, IN; beloved daughter, Jacie Huey of Owensville, IN; father, Joe (Rita) Huey of Princeton, IN; brother, John (Jennifer) Huey of Denham Springs, LA, with nieces and nephews, Jacob Huey, Jordyn (Brandon) Woods and their children Kate and Kali, and brother, Jeff (Angie) Huey of Princeton, IN with nephews, Jarrin and Jevin Huey; mother-in-law, Peggy McClellan of Owensville, IN;; aunts and uncles, Carolyn and Wes Haas of Princeton, IN and Joe and Janet Huddleston of Olathe, KS, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Jared will be cremated and buried at Fairview Cemetery in Princeton, IN, at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
