Jay D. Whitehead

Jay D. Whitehead, 58, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN on August 5, 2019. He was born to Jerry and Donna (Turpin) Whitehead on February 27, 1961 in Evansville, IN.

Jay was an Indirect Lending Business Development Officer for Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, IN. Despite being a graduate of Princeton Community High School, he was a dedicated Gibson Southern Titan supporter. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing golf, watching NASCAR, and rooting for the IU Hoosier basketball team. He could be found cruising around town in his golf cart visiting with his many family and friends. Jay was a loving husband, father, brother, son, and a wonderful Papaw.

He is preceded in death by his father Jerry Whitehead on November 14, 2018.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karla (Brackett) Whitehead of Haubstadt, IN, children; Brandon Whitehead of Patoka, IN, Natalie (Aaron) Wilzbacher of Haubstadt, IN, and Jaryd Whitehead of Haubstadt, IN, mother; Donna Whitehead of Princeton, IN, sister; Jana Whitehead (John Evans) of Newburgh, IN, and grandchildren; Hudson, Hadley, Harper, and Houston Wilzbacher.

Services will be on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery in Owensville, IN following services.
