C. Jean Holder passed away peacefully on Wednesday; March 18, 2020 at River Oaks Health Campus surrounded by her family. Jean was born April 10, 1929, in Dixon, Kentucky to the late Wilton and Ruth Winstead.
Jean graduated from Central High School in 1947. She married Larry “Dude” Holder in 1951, and they moved to Fort Branch in 1956, living there until their deaths. Jean went to work at the Princeton Daily Clarion in 1964 as a bookkeeper, office manager, advertising manager, and retired in 1990 as the Business/General Manager. She was a lifetime member of the Princeton Country Club where she served on the Board of Directors for 8 years. Her hobbies included golf, gardening, and cooking for her family.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jan Burger of Fort Branch, and Kathy Jo Odom of Jasper. Five grandchildren, Bryce (Stephanie) Burger of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brooke (Josh) Johnson of Fort Branch, Megan (Chris Gates) Dyson of Chandler, Eddie Odom of Evansville, and Jesse Odom of Fort Branch, nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Sharon Ulrich of Evansville, several nieces and nephews including Jamie Winstead an Larry Ulrich both of Evansville.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Larry “Dude” Holder, brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Janie Winstead, and her sons-in-law Jay Burger and Ed Odom.
The family would like to thank River Oaks Health Campus of Princeton and Heritage Hospice Care of Evansville for their outstanding care and concern.
Graveside services will be private at Jean’s request. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. All food and flowers should be delivered directly to the family.
