John W. Dierlam, 79, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away surrounded by family at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN on Monday, January 24, 2022. He was born to the late Russell and Mae Pauline (McIlree) Dierlam on October 1, 1942, in Princeton, IN.
He graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1961. On February 27, 1965, he married Judith Graham of Fort Branch. John was a member of the Francisco General Baptist Church and filled the pulpit there many times as a supply pastor. He was a member of the Gideons International for many years and served several offices including distributing bibles throughout Gibson County. He truly enjoyed watching Mount Carmel Aces sporting events including his grandson playing football and his granddaughter’s cheerleading. He also liked to travel to St. Louis where he would watch performances at the Muny Theatre.
John is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy; son, Gregory of St. Charles, Missouri; daughter, Shelly (Shaun) Harris of Mount Carmel, Illinois; grandchildren, Darian Neu and Alex Harris of Mount Carmel, Illinois and Jordan Neu of Newburgh, Indiana; brother, James (Jeanie) Dierlam of Francisco, Indiana; aunt, Aline Huey of Kenai, Alaska; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and close family friend, Robert Gettemeier.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Dr. Kathryn Webb officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. Donations in his honor can be made to Gideons International.
