Joseph A Massa, Jr.

Joseph Anthony Massa Jr., 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away at RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN on September 11, 2023. He was born to the late Joseph and Mary (Babyak) Massa on February 18,1935 in Clinton, IN.

Joe was married to his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Wynnetta Sue (Staats) Massa, for 66 years, before she passed away on September 30, 2021.

He was a man of faith who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed football, fishing, music, video games, and puzzles. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a graduate of Indiana State University, and a retiree from Eli Lilly and Company in Clinton, Indiana.

Joe is survived by his children: Dr. Joe (Ginny) Massa, III of Ooltewah, TN, Mike (Janice) Massa of Avon, IN, and Terri (Lin) Staples of Evansville, IN; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Wanda (Richard) Black of Eutawville, SC and several nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, and infant brother, George.

Services will be private with entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum in Fort Branch, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
