Mary Frances Wehmer, 96, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away at The Village at Hamilton Pointe in Newburgh, IN on May 13, 2021. She was born to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Brahm) Holzmeyer on July 18, 1924 in Fort Branch.
Mary was a devout catholic and member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Snake Run, IN and a member of the St. Ann’s Altar Society. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress, crocheter, quilter, homemaker, and farmer’s wife. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was creative, and had a way to make everyone smile and feel special.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years whom she married on October 13, 1948, Christian A Wehmer; son, Robert Wehmer; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Wehmer; and siblings, Lorretta, Herman, John, Bernard, and Raymond Holzmeyer.
She is survived by her children, Betty Sue (Gerald) Weber of Fort Branch, IN, Dr. Mary Ann Wehmer of Evansville, IN and Kathy (Rick) Wehmer-Brown of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Chris (Heather) Wehmer, Ryan (Jessica) Weber, Robbie (Amy) Wehmer, Bradley (Lesley) Brown, Jerrad (Kasci) Weber, Kristy (David) Ernspiger, Rhonda (Justin) Rodibaugh, Susan (John) Fischer, and Christian Weber; and 24 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Gary Kaiser and Father Christopher Droste as co-celebrants. Visitation will be on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until service time with a Rosary service starting at 8:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Bernard's Catholic Church or The Robert and Charlotte Wehmer 4H Memorial Scholarship Fund.
