Oscar P. Jost left this earthly world to be with his heavenly father on March 7, 2022
He was born to the late Dan and Olivia (Scheller) Jost on May 15, 1934, in Haubstadt, IN.
Oscar worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 45 years where he served as Union Steward and District Steward for 25 years.
Oscar was a member of the Knights of St. John and St Vincent DePaul. He was also active with the Lord’s Pantry.
Oscar was a loving Husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed greatly. He spent a lot of his retirement years helping those less fortunate than himself. He was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was the first person of the church to receive the Mother Teresa award which he was very proud of.
Surviving Oscar is his wife Betty (Utter) Jost of 64 years of marriage, his daughter Debra Parkinson-Lambert (Dale) and grandson Maximilian Parkinson all of Haubstadt. Also surviving are two sisters, Sister Rachel Jost of Springfield, IL, and Mary Jane Thompson (Tom) of Haubstadt and two brothers, Don Jost of Haubstadt and John Jost of Salt Lake City, UT. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents are his brothers Marvin and William (Teresa) Jost and a sister-in-law Carolyn Jost
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Church with Father Christopher Droste officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Stodghill Funeral Home with a rosary at 2:30 pm conducted by the Knights of St. John, And again, at the church on Monday for 9:30 am to service time. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville immediately after the funeral.
Donations may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Church or the Lord’s Pantry.
