Rex “Bud” Alvin Passwater, 66, of Princeton, IN, passed away at Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation in Oakland City, IN, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He and his twin sister were born to the late James A. and Laura Mae (Shanks) Passwater on May 6, 1956, at Rhein-Main Air Base in Frankfurt, Germany.
Bud was a member of the Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton. He worked for Randy’s Sporting Goods, which was later Meeks Guns, fixing guns and bows and setting up archery equipment for about 20 years before the store closed. He loved everything outdoors including hunting (traditional and black powder), archery, fishing, bowling, watching Colts football, and playing basketball and volleyball with friends. He was a member of the Gibson Lanes bowling leagues for many years where he won several trophies. He was also a member of the Patoka Valley Long Rifles club.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his aunt, Mary E. (Shanks) Miller and his sister-in-law, Cheri Passwater.
Rex is survived by his brother, James A. Passwater, Jr. of Palm Harbor, FL, twin sister, Laura Lee (Mark) Davis of Princeton, IN, and nephew, Josh Davis of Princeton, IN.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers at Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City, DaVita Dialysis of Princeton, and Deaconess Home Health in Princeton. Words cannot express the appreciation of the care, kindness and personal friendliness that was extended to Rex and the family.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home with Pastor Amber Livermore-Cook officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The burial will be at Oddfellows Cemetery in Princeton, IN.
