Valada E. Schultheis, 86, of Haubstadt, IN, ascended into Heaven peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She was born to the late Christian and Alvena (Dickmeyer) Niederhaus on February 2, 1936, in Warrenton, IN.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN. She graduated from Haubstadt High School in 1954 and married her late husband, Donald Schultheis. While her main job was being a loving wife and mother, she also worked as a cook at The Log Inn in Warrenton, Budjet Video in Princeton, and was also your friendly neighborhood Avon lady. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was quite the seamstress and mended things for her family.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald G. Schultheis; and her siblings, Herbert, Gilbert, and Robert Niederhaus.
She is survived by her children, Mark Schultheis of Haubstadt, IN and Brenda (Randy) Jones of Evansville, IN; grandchild, Angela Jones of Evansville, IN; and siblings, Donald Niederhaus of Haubstadt, IN, Melvin (Mary) Niederhaus of Haubstadt, IN, Joyce Smith of Mount Carmel, IL, and Linda (Rich) Baumgart of Paris, KY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with Father Andrew Thomas as celebrant. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until mass time at the church with a rosary service at 9:30 a.m. prior to visitation. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
