William Mason Obituary

William (Bill) Mason, 84, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Charlie and Goldie (Kramer) Mason on July 24, 1935 in Fort Branch. Bill was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and “Gpa.”  Bill was an avid sports fan who followed the IU Men’s Basketball and the St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball teams, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Bill retired from Whirlpool after 40 years serving many years as a Union Steward. He was a well-known musician in Gibson County. One of his favorite past times was farming and caring for his pony, Rosey. He was a builder, and able to make anything.  There was not a thing he couldn’t fix or repair. He was always happy and willing to pitch in and help his family with projects.  Bill loved drawing, enjoyed painting, and writing songs. He was a music lover through and through. He was a member of Blythe Chapel Church where he served as a Trustee for many years and enjoyed ministering there through his music.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by the love of his life, his wife Judy to whom he was married for 39 years, brother Norman Mason, and two sisters Charlestine and Sue Ellen Mason.

He is survived by his five children, Greg (Penny) Mason, Princeton, Becky (Gary) West, Princeton, Scott (Jackie) Mason, Fort Branch, Kathy (Paul) Lloyd, Haubstadt, and Melissa (Jerry) Wilzbacher, Fort Branch, 14 grandkids, and 27 great grandkids.
