William C. Ungetheim, 78, of Haubstadt, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at North River Health Campus in Evansville. Bill was born on September 29, 1942 to the late Charles and Lorna (Browne) Ungetheim of Cynthiana. He worked at Emge’s Packing Company in Ft. Branch for many years and retired from GE Plastics in Mt. Vernon. Bill was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and traveling to the World Horseshoe Tournament every summer in a different state, making family vacations out of the trips. He enjoyed working on old cars and trucks, especially Studebaker’s. He was a handyman who could fix anything and enjoyed camping and watching old westerns. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything.
Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose Ann (Bicker) Ungetheim; brother Bob (Linda) Ungetheim, of Evansville; daughters, Donna (Paul) Schmidt of Indianapolis and Debbie Harpenau of Evansville; sons, Charlie (Sandy) Ungetheim of Haubstadt and Steve (Stacey) Ungetheim of Peoria, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Damon) Krometis, Jacob (Lori) Ungetheim, Jonathan (Rachel) Schmidt, Emily (Zack) York, Jillian (Ryan) Vonderohe, Lauren Ungetheim, Jeremy Schmidt, Benjamin Ungetheim and Levi Ungetheim and one great-grandchild Josie Ungetheim.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and half-brothers Warren, Carl and Jim Rodenberg and nephew Rob Ungetheim.
The family would like to thank the staff at North River Health Campus for the excellent care and the love they have shown Bill during his time there as a resident.
Close friends and family may visit from 8:30-10:00am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt with a rosary from 10:00am till time of Mass at 10:30am on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Christian burial following mass at the church cemetery. Donations may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
