Ethelene C. (Dassel) Greubel, 88, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2020, surrounded by her four children.  Ethelene was born to Oscar and Magdalene (Pfeiffer) Dassel on February 24, 1932 in Evansville, Indiana.  She was a graduate of Reitz High School.  She married Frank F. Greubel on February 16, 1952.
Ethelene was a homemaker and many knew her by her delicious red velvet cake, her love for the song “Margaritaville” and dance moves that only Ethelene could do.  She enjoyed going to the casino and playing her favorite slot machine and looked forward to her annual Spring “Girls Trip” every year for the past 30 years.
Ethelene is survived by her four children, Jerry (Nancy) Greubel, David (Maureen) Greubel, Kevin (Jeannie) Greubel and Dana (Tony Hallam).  Grandchildren Danielle (Bob) Schleter, Candace (Andrew) Stull, Kelsey (Alex) Bittner, Trevor Martin, Megan Hallam, Daniel (Laryssa), Adam & Jared Shigley. Great-grandchildren Paige, Isabella, Bo, Finley, Houston, Mae & Neil, Wyatt & Scarlett and life long best friends, Jerry & Juliann Riffert. Several Nieces and Nephews.  She took great joy in her grandkids and great grandkids who knew her by “Nanny”.
Ethelene is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; grandson Sean Greubel; brothers Frances, Herb & Melvin Dassel; sister Virginia Wallace.
A very special thanks to her caregivers, Julie Klusmeier, Connie Ross and Ranece Wathen.  These special ladies went above and beyond allowing Ethelene to stay at home as long as possible.  Special thanks to the caregivers at North River Assisted Living as well.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 20, 2020 with a Rosary at 1 pm and regular visitation from 1:30 pm to 5 pm at Stodghill Funeral Home in Ft. Branch, Indiana.   Visitation will continue from 9 am to 10 am on Monday, September 21, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, Indiana.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am at the church with Father Kenneth Betz celebrating.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Haubstadt, Indiana.
