Patricia J. (Emge) Sermersheim

Patricia Jean Sermersheim, 66, of Riverview, FL, formerly of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at St. Joseph’s in Tampa Florida. She was born to Robert G. Emge and the late Rita Emge (Riffert) on October 8th, 1953 in Princeton, Indiana. Patricia graduated from Indiana University with a BA and MA in Elementary Education. She taught 33 years at Stinesville Elementary School in the Richland Beam Blossom Township, touching the formative years of hundreds of young children. Pat was an avid golfer who shot a hole in one, not once but twice in her life. Many memories were shared with her on family vacations.  She loved the holidays when she would treat her family and friends with her fantastic pumpkin rolls. Pat’s total love for her granddaughter was the motivation she needed to relocate to Florida in 2017. She loved spending every moment being Grammy to Harper. Patricia is survived by Husband of 46 years, Kenton E. Sermersheim. Daughter Alison J Nelson (Chris), Granddaughter Harper Lee Nelson, Father Robert G. Emge, Sisters Cindy Shoulders and Terrie Chamberlain of Evansville, IN, Brother Stan Emge of Haubstadt, IN, Mother in-law Esther Sermersheim, Many loving Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter Lori in 1993, father-in-law Gerald Sermersheim in 1993, and mother, Rita in 2006.

A mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch IN with Father Christopher Droste and Father Luke Hassler officiating.

Visitation for Patricia will be at the church from 10:00 AM till service time at the church.  She will be laid to rest at the Holy Cross Mausoleum. Holy Cross Catholic Church, 305 E. Walnut St, Fort Branch IN 47648.
