Alberta “Bert” L. Conner, 88, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on October 9, 2022, at Transcedent Health Care in Owensville, IN. She was born to the late Raymond and Ellen (Wiseman) Neufelder on October 27, 1933, in Fort Branch, IN.
Bert was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the VFW post #2714 Women’s Auxiliary. She had many jobs throughout her life because she was a born saleswoman. She was the office manager at Holiday Foods in Fort Branch, worked at Fulton laundromat in Princeton, sold jewelry, had her own spray tanning business, but the job she loved the most was truck driving with her husband Jerry for Stoop’s Trucking. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, getting her hair and nails done, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepmother, Lillian Neufelder; in-laws, John and Mary Conner; husband of 72 years, Jerald Conner; son, Jeffrey Conner; daughter, Theresa Conner; siblings, Marietta Jones, Neda Atterbury, Rosemary Neufelder Raymond “Bud” Neufelder, and Robert “Logan” Neufelder; William "Bill" Neufelder,Charles Neufelder; sons-in-law, Brett French, and Bill Reinhart; and great grandson, Zachary Bailey.
Bert is survived by her 5 children, Micki (Ron) Lemke of Parkersburg, IL, Vicki Reinhart of Baker, LA, Cindy (Jim) Martin of Fort Branch, IN, Vanessa (Danny) Huntzinger of Huntingburg, IN, and Jackie (Randy) Wheaton of Fort Branch, IN; brothers, Leo (Judy) Neufelder of Fort Branch, IN and Darwin (Carolyn) Neufelder of Fort Branch, IN; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Akins officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until service time. She will be cremated and entombed in the Holy Cross Mausoleum at a later date.
