Marilyn Lee Wallace, 84, of Haubstadt,IN, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 13, 2023. She was born to the late Fred and Macy (Meade) Dearing on October 7, 1938, in Fort Branch, IN.
Marilyn was a member of the Bethlehem General Baptist Church in Fort Branch, IN. She graduated from Owensville High School and married the love of her life, Kenneth “Pete” Wallace on December 2, 1956. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her grandchildren and watching game shows. She was a member of the Home Ec. Club and sold Tupperware for 15 years.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Kenneth “Pete” Wallace; daughter, Donna Graper; and brother, Wayne Dearing.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (David) Schmitt of Haubstadt, IN, Terry (Diane “Annie”) Wallace of Fort Branch, IN, and Lori (Kevin Spindler) Haley of Haubstadt, IN; son-in-law, David Graper of Fort Branch, IN; siblings, Stanley (Ruth) Dearing of Fort Branch, IN and Donnie (Clara) Dearing of Fort Branch, IN; sister-in-law, Marilyn Dearing of Fort Branch, IN; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with 2 on the way, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank special friend Nancy Epperson and Deaconess Hospice for all their wonderful care of Marilyn.
Funeral services will be on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Pastor Mike Douglas as officiant. Visitation will be on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Fort Branch. Donations in her honor can be made to the Fort Branch Public Library and St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Expressions of sympathy can be made at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
