Susan Jane (Hannold) Young, 70, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN on Monday, April 25, 2022. She was born to the late Carl E. and Ethel “Billie” (Comes) Hannold on September 25, 1951, in Bradford, PA.
Susan married the love of her life, Edward Young, on September 7, 1973. She retired from Happe & Sons Construction where she worked as a bookkeeper and accountant. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Huntingburg, IN. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting, and crafting as well as camping on the White River.
She is preceded in death by her father, Carl E. Hannold; mother and stepfather, Ethel “Billie” and Alfred Jennings; niece, Marcy Olthoff; nephew, Daniel Beals; brother, Carl G. Hannold; sister, Hazel D. Hannold; and brother-in-law, Dean Francis.
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Edward Young of Fort Branch, IN; children, Shawn (Stephanie) Young of Owensville, IN and Heather (Chris) Wehmer of Poseyville, IN; siblings, Joanne Francis of Lowden, TN and James (Rosemarie) Hannold of Gifford, PA; and grandchildren, Natasha L., Courtney M., and Paisley D. Young and Jaydyn K. and Jenna M. Wehmer.
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, with Pastor Scott Burr officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at the Fort Branch VFW following the service, all are welcome this event is kid friendly. Private entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
